Galaxy S4 with tap-dancing 'flash mob'

Samsung touts Galaxy S4 with tap-dancing 'flash mob'

The latest promo for the upcoming new phone features a troupe of dancers tapping their way in New York's Times Square.
Samsung tried to conjure up a bit of Fred Astaire for its latest Galaxy S4 promotion.
As the new Galaxy phone gets ready for its big debut tomorrow, the smartphone maker took to Times Square to try to wow the crowds with a dance number.
Outfitted with bowler hats and black suits with the number 4 on the back, the dancers emerged from a paneled box entitled "Be Ready 4 The Next GALAXY." The troupe performed the old soft-shoe routine before dancing back into the box.
Samsung described the video as a "a cool flash mob for the 'Be Ready 4 The Next GALAXY' in New York." The scene could hardly be described as a flash mob. And I'm not sure just how cool it was, though the performance did elicit some applause from the Times Square crowd.
Samsung has been amping up the advertising action on the Galaxy S4, teasing consumers with little tidbits that tell us virtually nothing.
Some of the rumored features for the new Galaxy phone include an eight-core Exynos processor, a separate eight-core graphics processing unit, a 4.99-inch SuperAmoled display, and 2GB of memory. The S4 will also reportedly sport a 13-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video capability and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The latest flavor of Android 4.2.2, aka Jelly Bean, should be part of the package as well.
Obviously, Samsung wants to save all the juicy details for Thursday's launch event. And CNET will provide those juicy details via a live blog of the event starting tomorrow at 4 p.m. PT.
